Catherine Thexton's interest in wildlife began at an early age. This interest led to the study and the teaching of biology and ecology. Although bird songs were always special, it was the winter of the Red Crossbills (1972-1973) that initiated the purchase of recording equipment. By 1981 a selection of nature recordings became the first album, In Praise of Spring. Until 2002, no two selections were the same. Then Bird Song with Ambient Sound borrowed for its 412 selections about ten from previous productions. (Click map to close window.)
