Heart Leaved / Golden Alexanders
(Zizia aptera / aurea)

Clusters of delicate yellow flowers on 18 to 25" (45 to 65cm) high stalks in June July. Moist to medium soils in full sun to part shade. Both have similar flowers and growth habits, but Golden Alexanders are more shade tolerant, flower earlier & have smaller basal leaves. Both are excellent for attracting butterflies to your garden, especially the beautiful Black Swallowtail.
